Admission

The campus/college accepts bonafide applicants of all nationalities, provided they meet the minimum criteria set as under:


1. B. Tech in Food Technology

The student must have secured at least 50% in the SLC exams and 2nd division in Certificate Level or Plus-2 in Science. Diploma in Food/Dairy Technology students are eligible, provided they have secured at least 50% in the SLC examination as well as the Diploma Level. The entrance examination is conducted by Dean’s Office, Tribhuvan University. Dean’s Office fixes the examination center a short period before the examination. Application form for the entrance exam can be collected from any of these centers and colleges/campuses where B. Tech. (Food) is being run. Those who pass the entrance exam are eligible for studying B.Tech. (Food) anywhere in Nepal in Tribhuvan University-affiliated related campuses/colleges. The individual colleges may have their own selection protocols for the enrollment. Please note that each college/campus can enroll a maximum of 24 students only.


2. Diploma in Food/Dairy Technology

All the applicants must have secured at least 45% in the SLC examination. However, since the minimum requirement for B.Tech. (Food) program is 50% in the SLC, applicants with scores below 50% in the SLC will NOT be eligible for applying for B.Tech. (Food). The entrance exam (as of 2015) is conducted by CTEVT (Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training). The individual colleges may have their own selection protocols for the enrollment. NAAST College can enroll a maximum of 48 students only.


3. Plus-Two Programs

All SLC graduates are eligible for the enrollment. However, individual colleges may have their own enrollment protocols. At NAAST College, only those candidates that pass the entrance exam (conducted by the college) will be considered eligible for admission. Program-wise, we enroll 36 students in science stream and 50 students in the commerce stream. Please note that passing the entrance exam will not automatically ensure your enrollment. You will have to face an interview for the final decision. You may have to bring your guardian with you.
